ZEMSIL DF-W is a 20% active silicone defoamer designed for continuous or intermittent addition to wastewater treatment systems and biofermentation reactors where foam overflow poses an operational hazard. The low active-content formulation disperses rapidly in highly agitated systems and is effective against the protein- and biosurfactant-stabilised foams typical of biological treatment environments. At the recommended dosage of 20–100 ppm, the product does not inhibit microbial activity in activated sludge or anaerobic digestion processes.
