ZEMSIL CS-69 (TESPT) is the bis-silane coupling agent for silica-filled rubber, equivalent to Si-69. The two triethoxysilyl groups couple to silica surface silanols while the tetrasulfide bridge integrates into the sulfur vulcanization network. Used in virtually all green tire tread compounds to reduce hysteresis and rolling resistance. Dosage typically 6–10% on silica weight in tire formulations.
